Lauren Rubin, BA, KPA CTP, CPDT-KA, FFTP
Owner & Behavior Lead
Lauren has been training dogs professionally since 2014 and specializes in rehabilitating dogs with reactivity, aggression, fear and anxiety.
Lauren’s first dog, Loki, featured on the home page, trotted into Lauren’s life as a 7 year old rescue dog. Unbeknownst to her at the time, he came with a history of aggression towards dogs and people. Helping Loki overcome reactivity and anxiety inspired Lauren to help others overcome the same struggle with their own dogs. She began training in 2014 and has never looked back. Although Loki has since passed away, his legacy lives on in her work.
In her free time, she enjoys watching sci-fi shows, reading novels, and going hiking with her husband and dog, Fenrir. She’s also lucky enough to share her home with a cat named Sindri, who is a tolerant roommate.

Jesse Van Hall, CPDT-KA
Behavior Specialist & Manners Trainer
Jesse joined the Creative Canine Solutions team as an intern in 2021, working closely alongside Lead Behavior Trainer, Lauren Rubin, for a year before taking clients of their own and earning their Certified Pet Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed credentials in 2022. Jesse earned their Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Oregon with a Minor in Biology and a focus on non-human animal learning and behavior. Jesse brings dog daycare management, dog rescue and rehabilitation, and dog retail experience to the table.
Jesse became interested in force-free, positive reinforcement based dog training after rescuing Ralphie, a little Pomeranian with a lot of big feelings. Ralphie worked alongside Jesse as a retail shopdog until he retired and passed away at the ripe old age of 16. Ralphie showed Jesse how much mindful reinforcement based training can unleash a dog’s potential and the impact it can have on human/dog relationships.
Jesse now lives with their German Shepherd, Noodle, who struggles with dog reactivity and is recovering from early punishment based training. Their favorite thing about working as a dog trainer is helping dog guardians understand and read their own dog’s body language as well as meet their dog's needs in a way that works for each family’s unique situation
